Ridley must have taken inspiration from the periodic table when designing this gem because like its namesake, the Helium SL ULT Di2 2015 road bike is extremely lightweight.
Specifically, unidirectional carbon. The entire frame and fork is made out of this incredible material. It is as light as a feather, but extremely robust and can easily handle multi-day tours. The Helium SL ULT Di2 2015s frame weighs just 1.2 kg, incl. the fork. You dont get much lighter than that.
Components that are out of this world:
- Shimano Uletgra Di2 groupset: extremely light, precise and electronic!
- Shimano Ultegra rim brakes: Well-balanced and highly responsive.
- Zipp 60 wheels: also made out of carbon - aerodynamic and light.
- Continental GP 4000S tires: great all-rounders with low rolling resistance and puncture protection.
A real lightweight all-rounder
If you have never used electronic gears you are in for a real treat. The Ultegra groupset which comes with the Helium SL ULT Di2 is so precise, that you wont ever want to use conventional gears again. The bikes sporty look is further enhanced by the internal cable routing and the Zipp 60 wheels not only look like theyve come straight from the jewelry shop, they also make the bike even more aerodynamic. The rest of the bike is also designed with air resistance and climbing in mind, so that it not only works well on the flats, but also when going uphill.
Note: the actual product differs slightly from the image shown. This dream bike comes with a complete Di2 groupset as stated in the product description, rather than the SRAM Red components as shown in the image. The wheels also differ from the image, the bike comes with Zip 60 wheels.
