The Elite Gel Gloves are Pearl Izumi's long distance gloves, designed to comfort your hands with two proprietary technologies. The first is the obvious inclusion of gel padding, which Pearl lays out according to its 1:1 design philosophy to keep pressure off of your ulnar and median nerves. The second, Ice-fil treated fabric, is less obvious. The backs of the gloves have been treated with Ice-fil, which actually involves adding a xylitol coating to the mix. This reacts to moisture, getting cooler when it gets wet. So as the temperature and your heart rate starts to climb, the Elite Gel Gloves work to make you cooler.
Even without Ice-fil, the gloves' light, mesh uppers will keep you cool. The synthetic leather palm also helps you keep your grip, so any sweat that does make it onto your hoods won't spell disaster when an unnoticed pothole jostles your cockpit. The gloves are finished with a hook-and-loop strap, a tab to get them on and off easily, and a soft microfiber panel on the thumb for wiping your brow and keeping sweat out of your eyes.
