The Arc?teryx Women?s Kappa Hoody is ideal for longer exposure outside in the cold.
The robust Gore Thermium-Outer Fabric and the fluffy Coreloft-Lining makes it ideal to even withstand the most severe snow storms. Basically, the laminate is a Gore Windstopper-membrane, just with taped seams, which increases the weather protection even more. The Outer fabric is extremely abrasion-resistant. The jacket can withstand ongoing sleet for a long time but might end up soaking through whereas snow is not a problem (not permanently waterproof). The climatic comfort on the other hand is even better and even if the lining should get wet it still keeps warm. The Canadians siliconize with their home-in fibre filling Coreloft every single polyester fibre, which makes it particularly moisture-resistant and ensures that even in changing weather conditions it remains its fluffy.
The filling quantity of 140g/m² is relatively solid and perfect for winter. Water bottles and gloves can be stored in the large, inside mesh pockets and remain warm. The jacket?s hood as well as the hand-insertion pocket are lined. The backward seam was extended so that the jacket still protects well even when bending forward. If the weather conditions change drastically, the hood can be adjusted so that it conceals around the head (high collar) without blocking the view. The hood could even be used with a climbing helmet.
Small components of the jacket such as drawstrings and zippers are glove-friendly. The Kappa can be used as Belay-jacket for easy climbs in cold weather. The two-way zip with button on the hem, as a result, serves as more secure, allowing to skip the tie-in loops.
The elegant, lightweight, robust and breathable Arc?teryx Women?s Kappa Hoody is perfect for every day use, winter hikes and snowshoe hikes. It serves as a warm hasp when climbing and convinces with its excellent workmanship and long durability.
The cut is sporty, meaning another thick Fleece can be worn underneath but the jacket is not cut very casually.
