Evolution in Action: Once again the Canadians made it happen and developed a completely new product: the Arc?teryx Procline Carbon Lite Boot!
This touring ski boot meets the expectations of ski mountaineers and downhill skiers alike. Why not ascent and descent on skis with one and the same boot?
The concept is based on a extremely flexible boot, which offers the required movability when climbing up with crampons and grants with its locking mechanism protection and stability on challenging slopes. This enables a rotation system as we have not seen before, where the boot?s shaft was designed in a way that it can move vertically as well as laterally. This way you will enjoy walking uphill in tour skiers or with crampons. Before going downhill, the back of the shaft will be tightened with a rock arm.
Another innovation is the high-quality gaiter at the end of the shaft, which grants an overall weather protection.
Different solutions were found on the buckles and are well thought through aiming at the best performance. The ratchet was integrated with a steel cable directly on the outside case on the boot end. A smooth distribution of the traction prevents blistering areas and grants better grip. On the stem you will find the Cam Lock Power Strap System, which is a partially elastic ratchet binding, constructed with a CNC-shaped aluminium buckles. The above buckle holds a PVC-coated Nylon tape and was made extremely flat and secured in a way that it cannot be opened accidentally. Even when open, the mechanism does not disturb and the lack of Velcro prevents damage to softshell pants. In the front there is a full-length zipper (waterproof).
The Lite Liner consists of EVA foam which allows thermoforming. It is equipped with tabs in the front and back. Flat seams as well as an innovative lacing system were used.
En route light and flexible with the Arc?teryx Procline Carbon Lite - from the valley to the summit and back!
Note: The Procline Carbon Lite comes with a lighter, less-cushioned inner boot and is geared towards ascents.
